High Traction Tread Design The intricate tread pattern balances inter traction and a smooth, quiet ride. The deep lateral and notched circumferential grooves provide excellent evacuation of water and slush from the tread contact patch.
IB-12 (Ice Biter) Enhanced Stud Technology Provides an optimal combination of design, quantity and placement of stud pin holes to maximize the tire’s traction on ice when studded. A new stud pin hole design improves stud retention while the number has been increased allowing for the use of a greater number of studs. The stud pin holes are strategically located along 12 distinct paths around the tread circumference to allow each row a clean bite at the road surface to maximize traction.
NOTE: Due to the extreme traction characteristics if this tire with studs installed, it is recommended that tires be mounted in sets of four to provide the best tire performance and safety.
Limited, Prorated Lifetime Warranty - If the tire exhibits a defect in materials or workmanship, it will be replaced free of charge during the first 2/32 of an inch of treadwear. After 2/32" of treadwear the tire will be replaced at a discount based on the amount of tread remaining. Tire vibration and out-of-round claims are covered during the first 1/32" of treadwear. I have one tire that always triggers my tire alert signal in my car. Therefore I need to put air in it every now and then. I would buy them again though.
I bought these tires because I needed a studded snow tire so that I could drive to the local ski resorts during travel restrictions without having to install chains. This was the only studded tire that was available for my 13 Honda Fit Sport albeit in a larger alternative size 205 50 16. I run all 4 on this car in the winter and it is for my wifes sense of confidence since she is the primary driver. Traction is night and day difference from the "all seasons" used before. These tires are great during winter commute in a bad winter area. Normally get at least 10 inches of snow weekly and they travel great. They really helped my car be able to go as well as an suv.
I did a lot of research on inter tires for my Tacoma because they are only P215 R70 15. These have all the qualities, studded, soft compound, sipes and great tread pattern. I received them in the mail within a week. I was suprised how quiet they are. I've already been on ice, snow, ice under snow with about 120lb in the bed and while other much heaver trucks were spinning their tires I had no problem. This is my 4th set of these tires, this time they are for my Prius, not my 4x4 Tacoma. They served me well in Montana snow, getting me safely up and down my steep, snowy driveway, and through the Bozeman pass to and from Livingston during blizzard conditions. The tire noise from this tire in the 31x10.5x15 for the Tacoma was the same as the "summer" tires. I am very satisfied with these tires. I travel over a steep, rugged mountain road in Vermont six days a week in the winter to work at a ski resort. Snow/ice is never an excuse for me to stay at home so I require a car and tires that will get me there in any conditions. These did not dissapoint!
I live in heavy snow country. I've driven through snow that was higher than my axles without a problem. If I could fix a plow to the front bumper, I could probably clear the driveway with these tires. I will definately buy these again for my other vehicles.
