SCC Super Z LT Chain Clearance Specifications and Details

The SCC Super Z LT tire chain requires a minimum of 14 mm of clearance on the inside sidewall of the tire. While other obstructions may be present, the critical clearance area on most vehicles is the inside sidewall of the tire. This is where the tire comes closest to suspension components like springs, shocks, and struts, as well as brake lines. If you are unsure if your vehicle has the 14 mm of clearance to accommodate this chain, be sure to check your vehicle's owner's manual for more information.     CONS - Great for the first few weeks of once or twice a week going up and down hill on my 1/10 mile private road while plowing. However after a few weeks they are almost impossible to get on. PROS - Easy to install when relatively new, and easy to remove. Less expensive than ladder chains, and this is my second set as one of the pair from my first set will no longer go on the tire due to a defect in the cable.

    Used these several times this past winter while working in the NE states. The ice grip is great and I feel safe when using them on icy roads. I wish more people would use these, it would make a big difference with safety on the road and ability to climb steep icy roads. We used these on our Honda Ridgeline. We have bought these for every car we have had for several years. Highly recommend them.

    got these because they advertised they could be attached without jacking or moving the truck, Instructions are pretty useless. Installed them dry to test, took a lot of retries but got them on. later needed them in mud but could not remember the trick and tiny instructions were useless. Frustrating. Had to jack the truck to get them doubt if I'd buy them again
